Throughout the course of their exciting journey as a group, the members of 5 Shades of Grey have won over the hearts of music lovers across Adelaide. Performing at a variety of venues and making countless public appearances, this talented Party Band has earned the admiration and affection of critics and fans alike. Gary

Lead Guitarist

Gary studied classical guitar at the Adelaide Conservatorium and, from a teenager, has been playing lead guitar in working bands. Gary is meticulous in crafting sounds and playing styles that evoke the original artists. 5SoG know our audiences will appreciate the skill and sounds of Gary's guitar.

Chrissy

Lead Vocalist

Chrissy has been singing in bands since the '80's and working as a professional singer since 1989 across Western Australia's pub and night club scene. She has toured extensively in Australia and South East Asia with bands that have supported Barnesy, Mental as Anything, Skyhooks and Vika and Linda. Her high energy performances and connection with our audience will have you on your feet dancing!

Nigel

Drummer

Nigel graduated from his first drum kit - 1 drum and a triangle - to be a hardworking drummer in local cover bands. WIth experience including rock, rock and roll, jazz  and disco Nigel has been the driving force of 5SoG since 2012.  He is also the band's sound and recording engineer.

Ray

Keyboards

Ray has performed in local bands for over 35 years and in that time has built solid rapport with many musicians and artists. With a long history of performing with Brian Cadd, Glen Shorrock, James Morrison and Lisa Edwards Ray has a proven track record of professionalism.

Richard

Bass

Richard's music career started in the 70's with Holy Kommotion and Maranatha. The 90's saw him performing with bands in the Top End before returning to Adelaide and forming premier 70's awesome rock band - Bender. With Nigel on drums he drives the 5SoG rhythm section.

Set List

A song must meet the 5SoG brief of danceable, popular and in some instances a surprise factor for inclusion to our set list.  As such our program covers a huge variety of popular artists over the decades.  At a 5SoG performance you're likely to hear The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Eagles, Abba, ZZ Top, The Who, Bruno Mars, Chicago, Simply Red, Neil Diamond Joe Cocker, Tom Jones, Billy Joel, Cher and Fleetwood Mac as well as the best from Australian music legends like INXS, Easybeats, Paul Kelly, Sherbet, Choirboys AC:DC Australian Crawl and Flash and the Pan. A great night with great music performed by great musicians.
